“Cute costume!” my friend Kiera - disguised as a gymnast - exclaimed when I opened the door of my room to greet her.

I smiled at her. “Thanks!” I was dressed as a genie, with a flowing, long-sleeve purple-and-gold cropped top, and long, baggy purple-and-gold pants, with gold slippers on my feet and bracelets jingling on my wrists.

“Ready to go?” she asked. I nodded and we headed outside, walking the short distance across campus to one of the many nearby Halloween parties. When we arrived the party was in full swing, people in various costumes all dancing and drinking and having fun.

“Hey!” I exclaimed, spotting our friend Ellis - I almost hadn’t recognized him at first, thanks to his very convincing pirate costume. I waved at him and he grinned before walking over.

“What’s up, Ry?” he asked. “Did you come over here all by yourself?”

I frowned. “Of course not. Kiera’s with-” I stuttered to a halt when I looked beside me, only to see that Kiera had vanished somewhere into the pulsing crowd of bodies. I sighed. “Well, Kiera was with me.”

Ellis laughed. “That’s cool. We can still hang out at least. Nice costume, by the way.”

“Thanks,” I said with a smile.

“Do I get any wishes?” he joked.

I rolled my eyes. “Haha. No wishes for you, mister.”

Ellis pouted. “Aww. You mean you don’t have a wish-granting button anywhere?” He poked playfully at my nose, then my chin, and I giggled. “I know there’s got to be a wish-granting button around here somewhere…” I squeaked when he suddenly reached down and poked my belly button, which was just barely showing thanks to the cropped shirt of my costume.

“H-Hey!” I giggled, swatting at his hand. “That tihihickles!”

“Now this definitely looks like a wish-granting button!” Ellis teased, poking at my belly button again and again. I giggled harder, sucking in my belly slightly in an attempt to escape the tickling. “Maybe I’m just not pressing it hard enough.”

I broke out laughing when Ellis wiggled his finger around in my belly button, pressing down on the little nub at the bottom. “Ehehehehellihihis! Plehehehehease!” With one more squiggle of his finger, he laughed and stopped tickling me.

“Do I get my wishes now?” he asked with a laugh as I rubbed my belly button.

I playfully stuck my tongue out at him. “Nope. No wishes for people who abuse the genie.”

Just then Kiera pushed her way over to us through the crowd, along with my friend Mary. “Hey Ellis,” she said. “Where’d you go Ryan, I thought you were going to come dance with me. What’ve you two been doing?”

Ellis sighed exaggeratedly. “Well, I’ve been trying to get a wish from this genie over here,” he teased, knocking at my shoulder. “But even though I pressed her wish-granting button, she still won’t give me any.”

“Wish granting button?” Mary asked interestedly. Ellis grinned, nodded, and pointed at my belly button. Before I could so much as blink I was squealing with laughter as Mary and Kiera both decided to take advantage of my ‘wish-granting button’.
So this is based off of a true story! For Halloween I was a genie, complete with a genie costume that had a little belly-sliver showing, and my friends really did tickle and tease my belly button by pretending it was a 'wish-granting button'. They're all friends who know how ticklish I am, and they just love to take advantage of it; they think it's hilarious.
